In fact, upon graduation from college in 2001 I was 50 pounds overweight and adhering to a completely sedentary lifestyle. It was not until I lost someone very close to me, that I came to realize the importance of how what is done today will ultimately affect our health, quality of life, and overall functioning. Moreover, what good are proactive steps towards fitness if we are not still making strides two weeks, two months, or twenty years from now?
This is something that I instill within all my clients; lasting change.
“Life Happens”. We get busy at work, kids get sick, friends are visiting from the mainland...there are virtually endless amounts of excuses that are available for NOT tending to our health and fitness.
The answer to this classic conundrum is easy. Fitness needs to be a priority. Regardless of how we personally define what ‘success’ is, when it comes down to it, WE are the center of influence. Family, career, romance, the common link between all of these spheres is the individual who links them. How successful can we be, when our own health is compromised. How sustainable are the strides that we make, when we limit ourselves by neglecting ourselves?
Fitness needs to be a priority. If it is for you, as it is for me, then it is time to MOVE!
